What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses liquid nitrogen to ‘freeze off’ the growth. It’s an easy, safe, and effective removal of unwanted skin tags and raised brown spots. This localized freezing of tissue, enables a controlled destruction of this type of skin lesion. It prevents the targeted cells from reproducing and growing. It also promotes cellular survival while minimizing pain and inflammation. One Cryotherapy treatment may be all that’s required to remove a skin tag or harmless lesion. In other cases, more than one session may be needed. For example, if the skin lesion is large or there are multiple growths.
How does cryotherapy work?
The best way to remove skin tags is to stop the supply of oxygenated blood that gives them ‘life.’ If you take away the source of life, your skin tags will eventually shrivel up and fall off. Freezing a skin tag typically achieves this fast. Once you use a freeze spray, it cuts off the circulation. You don’t need to do anything else to the growth.
When will I see result?
After the skin tag has been frozen there will be a period of 1 – 2 weeks before the skin tag dies completely and falls off.
